Indian Film Wins Award at Toronto news
Laxmikant Shetgaonkar’s debut feature film “The Man Beyond The Bridge” won FIPRESCI prize in the discovery section of Toronto Film Festival.
The Konkani film, produced by National film development corporation (NFDC) tells the story of a solitary forest guard and his love with an insane and equally lonely woman.
Set in the lush green forests of Konkan region, the also captures the socio-political dilemmas of the society.
Debutant director has already won a national award for his documentary film “A Seaside Story”.
The film will be premiered in India in the upcoming 11th Mumbai Film Festival, October 29 to November 5, 2009.
